 At first sight, this kind/type of photography is amazing and then more and more people does it and it turns into a cliche. Still though, even if its a cliche I still want to give it a try just to find out how difficult it really is to come up with this kind of image.

I don't see this kind of photography as a cliché since no drop, no background, no colour scheme is ever the same. Your drop looks almost like an ice sculpture here. Well done.
