Yes, this is one out of two possible mainstreets where I live. This is Noresund, the other is Kroderen (actually Krøderen, but you guys can't write an ø (pronounced: oe)).
Whenver I submit photos to challenges I don't have a clue on how to solve to make it look as good as possible, there usually comes some form of story to it. No exeption this time.
Me and a friend of mine climbed on top of garage to get this angel. Middle of night. When he ran out of batteries he drove my car around the roundabout till I got the photo I wanted. We found that out that if he drove all the way around the roundabout and exit where he drove in, the lights would form the Statoil logo. Hopefully I get extra points for that.
After this we tried to achieve a stroboscopic effect with my speedlights. So we set up everything in the damned roundabout. An ambulance slowed down and looked at me with the look: "The hell are you doing..." And when we were unpacking, putting the car in the roundabout with the "blinking signal you start buy pressing the red triangle in the car", a Swedish guy with a caravan stopped and asked uf if we needed help. "No thank you," I said, "Just taking photos for the highway authority." He bought it =)
To round this up. I'm hoping for a score over my overall average as usual. My best of 2009 and still life of fruit is not going very well (challenges that are in the voting period as I write this), so I need this up there. I don't know how to make this mainstreet look any more interesting. Seriously, this is what we have. This is the centerpoint of Noresund. The road up ahead is Riksvei 7 (name of the road) that is going towards Bergen (5 hour drive from there). Go the other way and you'll reach Oslo in two hours. The exit to the right is... doesn't have a name. Follow that road for 10 minutes and you are at the bottom of Norefjell. A fantastic skiresort with some interesting wildlife (reindeer, some eagles and a few different rodents) and amazing nature. |

Really cool long exposure... Not too blown out, but long enough to get the complete rotation of the car. Nice shot. |

Really nice shot, I love the lack of colour and the curve of the lights |

The light trail is cool. It makes it look like the roundabout is lit with neon. Odd though that there is no car to go with the lights. It seems a bit blown out in the gas station, but I like the composition and overall, I like the image. |

This would have been a blue imo (it still can be, i just started voting) if only you had used a smaller aperture to get those lights to starburst! 8 |
