Voters can't stare at it long enough for their eyes to adjust to the darkness. ;-)
I print-screened it and took it into PS and had to crank the brightness up +150 before I thought it looked good, but then there was a great image revealed.

I think you fell victim to the uncalibrated monitor, because on mine this looks fantastic. I gave it a six - and not more - because the colors could have popped a little more to make this more fabulous. So sorry it didn't score higher.

Way underrated IMO. My monitor is calibrated and I thought the detail was just perfect for a night shot. And the deep blue of the sky is gorgeous, especially with that sprinkling of stars. But then my own entry did miserably so maybe my opinion isn't all that useful ;-) I stand by my fave, though; this is one I will enjoy going back to look at.

Rather dark scene here and a funny glare on the overall pic
01/28/2010 01:19:44 PM
Comes across on my monitor as so dark that I can barely make it out.

I'm actually usually a fan of darker photos than most, but this is just too much for me.

This is coming off very dark. You can still make out a lot of detail which is pretty awesome. I like it!

I'm sure you're getting hammered for this being too dark, but I think it's just terrific.....8

so dark!! I am sure that was the intent here. I think it works.
01/27/2010 12:44:18 PM
On one monitor I can see the image, but on my other I can only barely make out the shapes. I did not do well in the low key challenge so maybe I'm not the best judge, but maybe next time it should be a tad brighter. Good luck.

excellent processing / technique , unfortunately it does not appeal to me enough. 7

Great image, I think it's just a little too dark.
01/27/2010 03:56:32 AM

01/26/2010 02:34:43 PM
could be a little brighter
01/25/2010 06:42:01 PM
This is a great shot but I just wish it was a little brighter.
01/25/2010 05:41:30 AM
the main reason for my 5 to this shot is because it is too dark, i do not see subjcts well enough to understand this shot.

I hope to not having offended

It is so dark that I cant really see the photograph.

Seems too dark to get much detail from the shot.
01/23/2010 12:27:58 AM
and far too dark for my eye.
01/22/2010 05:46:26 PM
Looks very interesting but way too dark, you can hardly see it.
01/22/2010 04:16:29 PM
Is this a barn with two silos? Whatever it is - it's extremely hard to see.
01/22/2010 02:57:38 PM
sooooo very, very dark..hardly any detail in this...

I'm sure that this is a brilliant photo from what I can see of it but, it's so dark that I can't really see it...have to stand up or move around my screen to see it. From what I can see in juggling around, it's got some really terrific elements of abandonment and an eerie feel to it that really make a great shot.

Firstly I had to turn the brightness right up on my screen to be able to properly make out what this is a shot of, so while I get what mood you were trying to give here, I think it may just be a touch too dark.

Apart from that, it's a nice shot, HDR I'm guessing, not too much of interest in the scene, but I think the starry sky helps out a little.

I'm viewing this on a bright monitor and I can barely make this out. I think a little more exposure is warranted.
