Greetings from the Critique Club!
A lovely conversion to B&W and a very pensive photograph of the young man. You've captured the emotion well here. Good detail and pretty good light with the exception of the eyes, as some of your commenters have noted. Not sure how you could have added more light to his eyes - the pop-up camera flash as fill, perhaps, but that sometimes can look "fake". I think it can be adjusted to just add a minimum of light - perhaps that is something you might wish to learn about the camera and try at another time. Meanwhile, I think this is quite nice - very thoughtful and a quite nice "in the moment" type of shot. And welcome to DPC - I see this is only your second entry. I look forward to seeing more work from you in the future! |

Nice candid-type portait - the title helps to portray the story.
I just wish that his eyes were not in the shadow. |

nice candid shot...your lighting on the face (eyes in particular) is a little dark...otherwise a really good shot |

Very sad kid... Seems odd, but this doesn't really impact me like I think it would, not sure why, but just didn't really impact me. Still a solid 6 from me. |

Great portrait! When I first saw your title I thought you were trying to portray sadness, but when I looked at the shot I saw that you have perfectly captured a boy in a state of boredom and it all made sense.
Great framing of the shot and I like the B&W conversion you have done too. |

I wish the eyes were a little better exposed. If it's candid, then you're forgiven. In any case, I like the feeling of lonliness you've conveyed here. |

Nice perspective. Could be a tad sharper in the face but nice overall shot. |

Cute photo, a bit sad, good pose. His eyes are a bit dark, heavy shadows I guess. |
