Found this senario at University of California Santa Cruz Arboretum when the bees were busy among the banksia and protea. Post processing: Levels, Contrast, considerable "selection" using all the tools available in PS CS as the flower was very complicated. It was difficult to decide just what color to leave. Some minor color painting and plenty of lightening with white paint done in soft light to accentuate the tableau.

Interesting- I like how you choose the two petals to colorize-it bridges the photo together. I don't like how the wing is red from the flower behind it, but what can you do? Well done,

Waaaay too many color for a desat challenge. You forgot to desat a whole section from under the bee's right wing, and what you did around it's body and antenna needs help. You should have magnified the heck out of the pictue and simply gone around it at 1-5 pixel resolution. Might have taken you an extra five minutes. That, and just the bee in color woud have made this pic a 10 because you chose an excellent picture to start with that had great contrast, great focus, and a good subject. Don't rush, take your time!!! You could have won this one with another 10 minutes of work. Rated 6.
