Cute looking dog and good attempt to capture him - good dog portraits are a lot harder than they first look.
Perhaps this shot might have worked better if you had taken off his collar and tags, then got him to sit down and look at you ?
Oh and try to be aware of the background as well - that broken twig by his muzzle draws the viewers eye away from the main subject.
A handsome pup though and something has certainly got his attention :- )

| This comes off to me as the average snapshot with harsh on board flash, I'm afraid. The dog looks unhappy as well. Sorry. |

| Flash really worked hard here. softer light would help. Stick coming in from left bottom to mouth is a bother. Nice pose from dog |

This just feels like a photograph of a pet to me, and I'm afraid photographically it doesn't seem outstanding at all.
The front on flash is probably what's giving it the "snapshot" feeling, with the harsh reflections from both the dog and the surrounding details. |

| a noble friend - the stick pointing to his face is a big distraction for me and the light seems a bit harsh |

| Cute dog, was he chewing on that branch in front of his face? This is one of those images that is more of a personal thing something DPCer's are not always fans of. |
