Nicely done, with great crips contrast, love it :)

That red headband and the touch of the red and pink blurred coats of the people in the background really makes this color shot sing.

This is really GOOD! It has a 3-dimensional quality to it. The tones and colors have such depth and vibrance! One of my favorites for sure of your school children series!

Delightful shy smile - and I love how the red grabs the eye and draws you in.

Fascinating story of how you come to take the shots Gunnar - I'm still not sure you could manage something like this in the UK. Maybe in a small village school I guess . . but all it would take is for one parent to be unhappy and I'm sure the whole thing would have to stop.

Very sad - because you are genuinely capturing moments, vignettes if you like, of their school days in a truly unique way and to a higher quality than many of them would ever have otherwise.

To answer your questions: Late 2008 I asked the head teacher of this school in Reykjavik for permission to take photos of the kids during recess. He said yes. I posted some photos on the school´s website so every teacher was aware of this guy with the camera. Last summer I had an outdoor exhibition in Reykjavik with some of the images. After the exhibition I gave the photos to the school. The kids know me, the parents are familiar with my images, and I usually come there during my lunchtime, just a short walk from work.

All the best... and thanks for asking.

I swear to God, I was just going to make an almost identical comment to smardaz's. Either you are a trusted parent, a locally famous photographer, or Iceland doesn't have their collective panties in a knot about how everyone's a potential predator.
