Took this on my last trip to Victoria, this was a small waterfall right on the coast tucked in only about 50m from the ocean. With it being protected so well there was barely any wind at all which allowed me to get 20 plus second exposures without getting the usual blurt trees. I had taken shots of this from almost every angle including climbing all over the trees that were fallen but this one ended up being a favorite.

Greetings from the Critique Club...

Congrats on a good example of a long exposure shot. Very sharp, very well exposed and the colors are great.

I think what hurts the image IMO is the composition, even though many commenters spoke of how much they liked it. I think the busy left side distracts from a relatively small waterfall, which by your comments, is the subject of the image. I would suggest you play around with different crops. I moved the window around on my screen and found the waterfall to be much more the subject of interest when I cropped vertically and gotten rid of all the stuff on the left right up to where the top tree crosses over, and then a bit off the right, may an inch. That would have focused the attention on the waterfall as well as eliminated all the distracting stuff on the left while keeping the one tree that creates such a great leading line.

If I had voted in this challenge, I would have given this a 6 as is and an 8 with a different crop.

Hope this is somewhat helpful for another point of view.

Love the sweeping line of this tree taking me to the falls and the reflection and rocks looks good. Only nit for me is the exposure on the top of this line of the tree a bit white. Its a super well thought out image thats worth a bettre exposure or maybe different time of the day

Besides being a drop-dead beautiful location, you have a fantastic POV here. I'm a sucker for the diagonal, and this diagonal works very well.

This certainly has that "gut" reaction I look for. Very nice, I love just about everything here.

I like the way the tree trunk draws the eyes in.

Reminds me of the moss and liken of Oregon. Living in Az. I miss that. This capture really gives the feeling of being in the woods. Very pretty.
