High contrast has a nice film-like look to me.

I really like this composition Penny..very "slice of life" and fitting for city streets. I love the roof? and dark trees in the back that frame the skaters. I love the contrast and glad you "went with it". I also like that you can still see detail in the faces even with the darkness of the people. Love just "watching" these people.

Oh, I have a painting of this ice skating rink that I bought in NYC almost 20 years ago. Really nice high contrast.

Retro feeling to me - which is a good thing - GRIN!

The empty foreground tells the whole story. Winter joy!

I like the black and white, high contrast, and the anonimity. It could almost be a collection of cutouts.

Oh yes, very hunters in the snow
You could try jacking up the blacks (reducing the black/dark grey variation) for more of the Breughel effect.
Fascinating scene of interaction between people apparently ignoring each other.
And the background and foreground also interact and ignore...

Penny, this is a good start but if you decide to rework it my suggestion would be to try and establish a main focal point.

Just to say, I'm probably going to rework this one. I like the contrast but I did something to the focus during processing. It really should be better...

Another nice slice of life from you this week. It's nice to see people making the most of the cold rather than just complaining about it :)

I like the contrast, it works well in making it less about the individual people and more about the collective fun they're having.

What fun! I assume this is the rink that Trump saved since his name is so prominent? He's definitely not shy. Well shot.
