According to icelandic tradition there is not one Santa Claus. They are thirteen brothers, cheeky and hungry and named after what they either love to do or eat. The last thirteen nights before Christmas they deliver small gifts to the children of Iceland, but only if they have been good. After Christmas they leave one by one until January 6th. Luckily I was able to meet one of them on his way to the mountain where they live until they arrive again next December. You just look into his eyes to see the kindness of this Santa Claus.
Photo taken on a frosty day, opened in Lightroom, cropped, some tonal adjustment made, also clarity, contrast, then exported to PS for levels, a bit of dodging, curves, resizing, smart sharpen and saving for the web.

| I really wish there was more of a story told through the photograph. What makes him the real Santa? Does he represent something greater to others? Does he bestow gifts upon strangers? I think so much more could have been portrayed here |

| I can't pinpoint exactly why, but I just love this shot. Maybe it's the softness of his eyes? I don't know, but I do think that it's a wonderful overall picture. |

| The entry registered with me when I first saw it. The sharpness and contrast in his beard were appealing. I thought it had good depth However, when I saw the title, it just didn't fit for me any longer. |
