Ah! Cool. I don't have a beauty dish so I wasn't quite up on the parlance. All I could figure was a sweat sock over a flash... and I didn't think that was quite right somehow...

I find this a fascinating image - but I'm not entirely sure why . . on the one hand a relatively straightforward shot of a young lady in a simple pose - unyet at the same time so much more than that. Persoanlly I really like the layers and think they add nicely to it.

The only warning I would give is not to let any vampires see the length of that neck - it would drive them crazy :- )

lovely portrat of a proud young woman. After looking at the two shots I have to say I don't mind the the overlay you have used but I would use a soft brush to remove it over the models face as I am sure she wants to see hoe lovely skin.

i have come back to this shot 3 or 4 times, i keep debating about my comment, i want to tell you a style it reminds me of but i really dont want it taken the wrong way so i will just say i love the shot and leave it at that

Wonderful image. I would like to see it without the textures. Just plain BW.

I actually really like every aspect of this image - quirky but everyday at the same time. The dead pan expression is fabulous.

LOVE THIS!!!! the aged feel of it opposes her modern clothes, which I really like. I dig the grain.

Awesome Richard! Thank you for putting your lighting and techniques. I'm so glad you're here -- I'll be studying your portraits to hopefully pick up a few clues!

Very nicely lit, I like the serious expression. Nice processing to create the grungy look, but I agree with the others that the attire does not really match.

I have the same question as Melethia about the beauty dish + sock.

I really like the overall composition and lighting. I like the overall finish effect on this, but I agree that perhaps an grungier outfit to fit the finish.

Good lighting, nice young girl but not so sure about the overlay on this shot. It doesn't quite fit with your model and her attire. IMO
