This is our dog JD. He got into a box of chocolates which were accidentally left under the christmas tree after the holidays. Cocoa is toxic to dogs and although he had gotten into some before, it was milk chocolate and the amount of cocoa he ate was not a level the vet was worried about. This time however he had a bunch of dark chocolates (50% cocoa) filled with flavored vodkas. We had to rush him to the 24hr emergency vet since since it was the only one open at 10pm. They induced vomiting and had to keep him overnight to monitor his heartrate and keep him on an IV.

So 24hrs later after a $1300 vet bill and a sedation pill, this is JD sleeping like a log. (and snoring too)

He's back to his normal self today which we are all happy about.

Glad to hear he is okay. He almost looks like he was half sleeping and half bothered with getting his picture taken. I like the choice of tone and lighting.

Ohhhhhhhh, poor JD! When I first started reading, I was afraid I was going to have to click away to avoid crying over an unhappy ending. Thank God he is okay! Thank you for loving your little family member enough to put his wellfare over money. Money will always come and go, and if its not this, the washer will break or the car will go on the blink. But the love and devotion of a little dog -- you can't even put a value on that, can you.

I hope he never ever EVER does that again!

Note to self: KEEP THE CHOCOLATE UP AND AWAY FROM MILLY!

I have to agree that to get the true effect of this photo, you really need to open it to full size. JD looks very peaceful here. I am glad that everything worked out well.

Wow, that is an expensive box of chocolates!!! Glad JD came out OK in the end.

Regarding the image, I really like the composition, in particular how it takes one's attention starting from the nose leftward to the eyes/ear and finally rightward/backward to the spots on the body. And the brown tones work out nicely.

same observation here, I thought the photo is distorted. I am glad he is ok. Nice portrait, he's looking so at ease here.

Holy crap! That is scary! Glad he is ok. The thumbnail looked like it was stretched horizontally, but apparently not. Nice detail and I like the duotone.
