Photographer’s Notes
New Years Eve, my wife and I went to the Seattle Center, had dinner, saw Avatar in the Imax theatre, and stayed for fireworks.

We had to wait about 2 hours from the end of the movie until the fireworks. It was cold … dry at times, foggy at times, raining at times, and misting the rest of the time. In other words, it was a fine December evening in Seattle. There were maybe 20,000 folks at Seattle Center waiting for the show, all in good humor, all well behaved. In other words, there was a fine Seattle crowd.

At the end of the fireworks show, I said to my wife, "That was SO worth the wait" And she agreed. What a great way to spend New Years Eve!

This is my first published photo of 2010. It was shot handheld, with a point and shoot. And except for one step, the editing would qualify for Basic Editing Rules.

I had a hunch ...
Great shot. I think it would have scored a bit higher had you been able to get rid of the color noise in the dark areas. Pretty good for a handheld P&S!

That's terrific. Not wild about the red border. :) 7

I love Seattle. Lived there from 1986 to 1988 while in the Navy. Awesome capture, but the red border clashes and is very distracting. This shot could have stood up well on it's own without it.
