Great composition. The space on the left side works great. The strong contrast is also nicely done.
cheers,

Like the cinematic feel that this one has. The sharp focus and contrast add to the intrigue of it. I think the borders could be slightly thinner but that is the only real critical thing I can think of. Well done.

First impression:
I love everything about this photo. Your B&W edit is supperb and the heavy black border top and bottom ony add to it. Definitely a keeper.

Suggested improvement:
Only thing I can think of is if you dodged his breath so it would show up more. But this is only a nitpik and is not needed.

Great start to the challenge.

bold composition with great use of shapes and tones. Very involving - you can almost sense the cold, crisp air and you want to see what he sees. It's like a still from a movie.

I too love the crop and negative space. Excellent contrasty shot that somehow manages to keep the face very well exposed. Well done!

Killer work here - i echo Judy's comments about negative space and cropping. The rich blacks really accentuate the textures in the fur and background

I always say this, but man, you crop and use negative space better than anyone. Fabulous.
