She was actually very friendly after about 90 minutes of hanging out with her. She took her time and eventually came up close. Here and there when I would snap a shot, she would stop and perk her ears up. once I remained still she would move in a bit closer. Once she made it up to 5 feet of me my heart was racing. And it was way to close for the 300mm. So I sat and talked to her as she checked me out.

I did notice when she was about 15 feet out, that a larger male circled around about 50 feet out. He kept a watch from cover of a small bush during the entire time.

This is not cropped from the camera one pixel. Processing is light.. LR2 Camera Calibration profile set; WB change; Exposure bump and Brightness dropped. Pulled Vibrance down.

CS4: Hi pass sharpen; shadow/highlights; burn on foreground rocks; resize & save as web

If he were completely sharp....hoooo boy, this would have been a killer shot.

Great shot of a coyote. It can definitely be hard to approach these guys, so good job. Nice choice of aperture too, really brings the viewer's attention to where it belongs- the animal's face.

Not a bad image but not a great one. The shallow dof offers some personality though I feel it falls off too quickly because the cackles standing up would have offered a much more animalistic and raw feeling if in focus.

good crisp focus
