Nice find!! Wondering if he might be a flicker instead of a woodpecker only because i've tried photographing them in the past..

painterly fore/background. I believe the in-focus small branches (left and right) could have been cloned out. Lovely portrait. Well done.

Oooh, a Flicker! I haven't seen one of those in awhile. Nice composition; would prefer fewer OOF foreground twigs but realize that probably wasn't possible.
