First impression:
Love the intesity your portraying here. The green in your eyes really stands out. To bad it wasn't advanced editing so you could "pimp those eyes"
Suggested improvement:
I might try extending the canvas left and right. The crop seems quite long. |

I enjoyed this image during the challenge. The only thing that bothers me is the nose being out of focus but using such a low aperture does that. The one thing I might try and do is enhance the eyes a little more to intensify that feeling of hate. |

Wow! I agree. You did a fabulous job for such a makeshift lighting set up. That's one dramatic facial pose you have there too :)

As an entry for the Hate II challenge this works well. Expression is good, light is dramatic. How could it be improved from a portrait perspective? Current DOF emphasizes the mouth and eyes nicely, but I would have liked to see the upper teeth in better focus -- it is possible some selective sharpening would take care of this (admittedly not OK for basic editing for the Hate challenge, but worth a shot for the Portrait side challenge). And perhaps having the inside of the mouth lit up so we can see the uvula hanging down would add even more pop to this. |

I think the only thing i can possibly think to make this better ( I find it an already very well put together image, subject is in focus, up front, well seen, well played) I think the eyes could have had more squint or more strain to them. |

Hey Andrew, love the expression, and also love your lighting setup - I'm no stranger to making do with whatever lights are kicking around! BTW are you a twin, or are you and your brother really close in age? Just curious. |

A cliched image ... but well done. Among the better images this challenge. |

This one could have been better if it had been in b&w. I like the composition though. |
