This is a green heron, taken at Wakodahatchee Wetlands in Delray Beach, FL. The wetlands were created by the Water Reclamation Department as a place to dump partially treated waste water. They put in plants that are native to FL that attract the wildlife and also absorb the phosphates. The wildlife (alligators, turtles, otters, bob cats, rabbits, raccoons, many species of birds) love the place, and live and breed there. People, especially photographers, love the place too.
