 A series of these paper decorations are displayed in the foyer at school I suspect the vice principal made them, as he did a whole lot of mobiles att he the beginning of the year to hang outside the classrooms.
This one depicts the Japanese version of the Man in the Moon - namely, a rabbit which makes mochi rice cakes.

That is a very intricate design. A whole lot of such things hanging around would liven up school corridors.
