I gave this a 5 because I liked the image, but could not see any connection to the challenge. I didn't think it was a blatant shoehorn, however. It was clear that you had seen some connection. Reminds me of one of my own entries, both in the subject and the fact that you saw a story in it which did not carry across to the viewer. Mine also came in on the low end of the scale.

I could be way off base but your image plus headline makes me think someone just committed suicide. To me that is different than boredom. I'm curious to read your photo explanation but at the moment I'm not sure what this has to do with boredom. |

Not sure what you were trying to do here, I don't see bored at all, and the title scares me. Sorry. |

Sorry, I'm going to need some stronger hints in the image to link title and photo together and get the story here. |

Strange shot. Moody. I like the low key effect. Nice DOF but, I d like to see the scissors more in focus though. I am not sure if it fits with "Bored". Anyways nice catch! 7. |

The only connection I see here to the challenge is the boredom of our photographer... Ehh, still a solid 6, wish I could give a 6.5.. |

I'm sure you must be getting killed on this one - I'm guessing this is the clive_patric_nolan entry?
I'm a fan but I must admit there's not too much for me to hang onto here. I don't really get the angle - am I missing some cultural context?
In terms of enjoying the image - the light is intriguing and the focal point is eclectic but for me the image doesn't 'hang together' - it is in dissonance.
On a positive note - I think the contrast and the colouring with the little bit of red at the top is excellent.
Gave it a 5 earlier, coming back to comment. This longer look hasn't offered up any reason to change the score.
I'm pleased to have viewed it though - a nice contrast to the other entries. |
