Photograph Information Photographer's Comments
Challenge: Puzzle Macro III (Advanced Editing VII)
Camera: Canon EOS-5D Mark II
Lens: Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM
Location: in front of my computer
Date: Dec 15, 2009
Aperture: f/13
ISO: 400
Shutter: 6
Galleries: Abstract, Macro
Date Uploaded: Dec 15, 2009

This is the clear acrylic cube base of a picture holder.
I displayed a colourful photo on my computer monitor, and put the cube in front of that. Yes... a shameless attempt at creating eye candy for DPC ;-)

Used the macro lens as well as all three extension tubes.
Converted from RAW, cropped, and cleaned up a few stray spots.

The title "Matmos" refers to the "seething lake of evil slime beneath the city Sogo" in the 1968 film "Barbarella", because staring at the bubbles made me think of the movie.

That was cute - got a good chuckle out of it, thanks :-)

Nice stumper! At least my silly sci-fi comment went along with your title!

I shot one of these decorative crystal balls too - I didn't enter it in the end but it does make for a good subject.

Wonderful abstract of designs and color - love it!! 8
So... hmmmm. Put some very viscous, slimy type, colored liquids in a clear plastic rectangular container, add some shiny little snaps left over from your sewing kit. Turn it upside down and snap the picture just as the flash goes off. Sorry - this is hard, but I tried.

Good mix of shapes. Are these bubbles inside a glass vase? 7
