You might consider framing things so that the giant pile of salt isn't so prominent. Because the stream leads back up towards the terminus of the falls, it brings the viewer towards it, which isn't good because brings additional attention to the overexposed area of the photo.

For me, there is no appeal to this image. Because of the style I cannot or I should say it is difficult to make the difference between the frozen water and the extended water. The fall appears to be a huge pile of bright snow but there is nothing there to tell me water. For me it just does not hold any weight.
