 50mm f/1.4 with reversed 50mm f/1.8

These types of borders deserve to be framing images like this. How many times have you watched a wide screen movie on a 4:3 aspect ratio television and said to yourself, "gee, I'm glad the entire screen isn't being filled up." Yeah, that's what I thought. Why should still images be any different? Stupid borders.

Yes, I really hate these borders. From now on, they will get an automatic vote of one from me regardless of the image being bordered.

Yes, this was my score in the Contre-Jour II challenge at the time...not sure it it'll be a brown, but it's pretty darned close.

You're really gonna make me think hard about this one. I've gotta give you kudos for the sheer cajones displayed here. Oh, heck, it's gonna get creamed by everyone else, so I'm gonna be generous. Mainly because I appreciate the blatant shoehorn.

It is nice to see that you can capture the pixels in such good contrast. The subject however is not very interesting.
