Taken @ 700mm :)

I hired a 500mm f/4 to photograph seals (in fs and tools challenge) I went to a local park to try it out first as it's a hefty bit of kit! I attatched my 1.4 converter to make it 700mm and still auto focus. I wish I could afford to buy one of these lenses :)

I used a manfrotto zoom lens mount on my lightweight tripod which was just awesome, the friction stops movement so you can move the camera on the tripod in any direction without undoing clamps and then it will just stay there when you let go.

This phesant flew in quickly and I managed to pan the camera to catch it :)

I'm impressed, of course not as impressed if you could have handheld that shot. LOL

Actually I'd say you did a great job especially considering how new you were to the gear and added a TC to it.
