"Macro" yes; accepted as such by DPC viewers, an almost certain no. What would have made this better for me would have been much better clarity, sharper details, perhaps a square crop, a centre crop, or a thirds-crop, more interesting contrast, a more engaging tonal range. Quite honestly, this isn't the best example I've seen of a moon macro.

Not macro and not close up, you would need to be on the moon to have this meet the challenge...

I don't have any idea how you can take a macro of the moon...just doesn't work

I can't help but think that shooting something from 225,000 miles away probably doesn't qualify as a macro... :)

Unless you are standing on the moon you cannot take a macro photo of it. Perhaps you misunderstand the meaning of the word macro.
