 Schoolchildren in one of the oldest primary school in Reykjavik during recess. That young boy called me paparazzi!

Converted to BW in Lightrooms, minimal crop and some tonal adjustment, exported to PS, levels, curves, resized and sharpened with USM, framed and saved for the web.

I love the expression you captured here!!! The B&W tones are very bold and dynamic; it focuses our attention ever more on the boy giving us the raspberry:-) Again it is the expression that captures and holds the attention - makes me chuckle:-) Gratz on the high finish.

Very good image. But only thing i want to ask is the lens u used is 'Olympus 14-45mm f/3.5-5.6 Zuiko Digital ED', but the Aperture is F 2.0. Hows that possible??? :)

This is my favorite of the challenge - I hope it ribbons. I love the black and white tones and the DOF. The kid's got a great expression and it's also fun to see what else is happening in the background. Good luck!

OK, I'm going through the Free Study submissions, purposefully finding those images I think are shot with a less conventional eye - this is one of those images! Thanks for offering something that isn't just DPC friendly eye-candy (though of course there's nothing wrong with eye-candy). I'll be picking one of these images for the Mu (most underrated) award:

Positives:Fabulous!!! Has gsal written all over it! The focus on the face here is just fantastic, it anchors the composition so well, with the other elements complementing but maintaing a supporting role. The toning here is perfect too. I also really like the stark highlights in the white hat and hood.

Critical stuff: Nothing at all.

Overall: For me, a perfect picture. 10.
