I was surprised to watch this climb so high in the voting during the week!

Truly a last minute image. I was driving home with my husband from our Thanksgiving trip and we bandied about some ideas. After we unloaded the car I went out to the craft shop to buy fake ladybugs. I thought I would make a good "water drop" image with ladybugs magnified. After messing with honey on glass and trying to perfectly line up the drops and get the focus I gave up and threw some feathers into a pile under the light. This is, embarrassingly, the first image I made of the feathers. Meaning that everything I did intentionally afterward was worse!

I like the image enough but not hugely. I lost detail in the ribbing of the feathers in the dark areas. The main feather is too centered. As one commenter said, it's not a "wow" photo. Guess I'll have to live with it on my page for awhile so I might as well learn to like it.

Yes, guinea fowl as far as I know. They came in a packet from a craft shop.

Ahh, nature's polka dots. Maybe it's just the nature of the dots but they kinda seem blurry to me eyes - like I can't really focus on them.
