 the shadow is printed on paper. You can see the paper in the lower right hand side. I had to crank up the brightness and contrast to hide the paper a little more. Thanks for all the comments
I never saw how it looked like a soldier until Magnum_za gave me his comment. I was trying to make the head look like it had a crown of thorns on it.

GREAT effect.
I feel like it could have benefited from a lower exposure and higher contrast. But solid idea and execution all the way around. 8

Nice photo, interested in how you got the shadow to be different than the object apparently casting the shadow, within the rules of basic editing, without layers and masks in photoshop. But nice photo.
