To me, this grand opening sign represents the American Dream.

I always loved to hear the old folks in my neighborhood tell me how they came to this country. How they came with nothing more than the clothes on their back, how they only had $2 in their pocket and how they risked everything to build a new life for their families and themselves in the land where dreams come true.

These stories still inspire and motivate me. I believe dreams can come true with a tremendous amount of hard work, courage, and for me, a little faith.

I used Photoshop to selectively desaturate the background, crop and do some basic edits.

Enjoy!

The halo effect and selective coloration violates the basic editing rules.. you had to do some sort of spot editing to get this reault.

I get the idea, just wish the letters were not mirrored

Not too sure if the selective desaturation enhances the image. The editing's also a little sloppy, I can see halos around the flag and the tree. However, I like the symbolisms here so its still strong enough to get a 6 from me.

The title is so critical here that I can't go past it. The flag is backwards - flip the shot perhaps? This is also going to be DQ'd for the selective desat.
