a really nice piece. I like thee use of shallow DoF with that wider lens. Very interesting result. |

Beautiful conversion, tones and vignetting. Whether you found it that way or not, that open hood is a great little detail in this shot. |

Shots like this are the reason I still hang out at this place. They make me realize that while we do see a lot of the same things over and over again, every now and then you get something that invites a viewer to linger, to see the stories, to make connections that perhaps even the photographer didn't see. Or to simply just appreciate. |

This is wonderfully evocative. Love the low angle and blurred vignette all adding to the classic 50s feel. Very Hitchcock. In my top ten of the challenge. 9. |

A trip back in time. Nicely composed from afar -- the distance in space echoes the distance in time nicely. |

Among the best images I've seen so far in the challenge. I love the low point of view, the B&W treatment. It feels dreamlike and is titled superbly. |

OK, I'm going through the Free Study submissions, purposefully finding those images I think are shot with a less conventional eye - this is one of those images! Thanks for offering something that isn't just DPC friendly eye-candy (though of course there's nothing wrong with eye-candy). I'll be picking one of these images for the Mu (most underrated) award:
Positives: Wow, what an atmospheric image - the selective focus and monochrome tones work so well with this nostalgic scene. The crispness of the house is particularly compelling. Compositionally, I really like how you have offered a lot of negative space at the bottom.
Critical stuff: Nothing at all.
Overall: Superb stuff - I could be wrong but I wonder whether this is RKT |
