Photos of statues don't really work for me. The subject of the image is centred but the whole background is in focus. The background is not an asset to this image so you need to use a larger aperture to bring the focus back to the statue.

Ok i had to look this up lol
This statue seems to have a very interesting history but I can't seem to find why it's call Doughboy.. can you help?
Oh yes very nice pic by the way, I like the way you have positioned yourself such that the arch of the soliders back is echoed in the tree.
