Jarno Trulli in Montreal qualifying for the Formula 1 Grand Prix du Canada. One of way too many shots to pick a submission. I'm sure that there are others that might have scored higher, but I couldn't figure out what might do the best, so here you have it. This was my first attempt at panning moving cars, and turned out better than I'd expected.

Yes, this was hand-held. Carrying around 10lbs of equipment was enough without adding a tripod, and the 70-200 IS was conspicuous enough in the race stands!

excellent job - the car is perfect; it's bright, sharp, clear, totally impressive. it's in amongst slightly too much background maybe, but that aside, unfaultable. it's interesting (even though i would personally prefer alonso, who's my favourite) nad and gives a real sense of speed. the best moving car shot here. 10.

Nice motion blur, had to be taken on tripod. I like the color and vibrancy of this shot. Intresting "ASIN" in the background :). Truly Speeding? or "Trulli Speeding." Nice corky title. Good job

Excellent, I still havn't mastered the art of panning - you seem to have it spot on. The colours are very good here as well , the composition is pretty standard but works well in this case.

And speeding is what mista Trulli does best! Stunning shot, did you have ear plugs in? Those Formula one races are so loud!

Another lucky Montrealer who got to go to the Grand Prix, I'm jealous! Great capture, great panning shot!

Nice shot. A good sharp car and very nice blur on the wheels. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of your shots from the event.

Great panning, excellent color. I think that composition-wise a more frontal angle would be better, but it is so hard to get good photography positions at these kind of events.
When was this? During the training/qualifying or the warming-up lap of the race. Shame he didn't get any further than 400m or so in the race.
