I had a wonderful vacation in Japan this last ten days and shot so many neat photos. This was taken at the Imperial Temple in Kyoto as it was open to the public for the week and we were fortunate to be in town! I really debated on another photo but content-wise it would be noticeably similar to a photo I will be entering in the Free-study challenge and less about foliage than another main subject. To look at this shot you would not know that there are hundreds of people crouded behind me looking at the palace. The rain was off and on for the last couple days so it was nice when the sky popped out for the second part of the day and trip in general.
Technical details:
Three exposure HDR: First 1/250, F8; Second exposure 1/320, F9; Third exposure 1/160, F6.3.
Combined in Photoshop, tone mapped with Photomatix plugin, 8-bit/channel down-conversion, cloned out a hunk of rock on the bottom-right edge, added curves layer to bump the contrast, added brightness/Contrast layer to fix the brightness lost with curves layer, finally added a violet photo filter slightly masked to favor the trees and water to fix the overbearing green tint. |
