Poor goat probably has to smile a lot for odd folks with cameras they stick through the little fence there...

I'll leave it to you to determine if this fits the challenge. I think it does, but that's just me.

Sub-5, I'm betting. timfythetoo will easily advance in the next round of the MS tournament.
Not in the same ballpark as Steve's work, but it was Steve I immediately thought of as I rode past these guys, and decided I had to stop and shoot a few in his honor.

And not only will Tim easily advance to the next round, he'll probably beat me by three full points or so, which is pretty amazing on a 10 point scale where only half the scale is really used, huh?

I still think it is kinda cute. I have another shot I prefer but I'm not as apparent in it, and I needed to be in it to meet the challenge, in my mind. Yes, in my mind I met the challenge. Really. I'm interacting with the goat, you see?

Dang. There I go explaining myself again. If you have to explain the shot, it ain't gonna fly. I shall write that 300 times in ink, with a pigeon feather, on handmade parchment (which I will have to make), before I enter the next challenge, OK? Well, not the next challenge - I have one more to go for the golf tournament thingie, but for any challenge I should be foolish enough to enter after that. OK? Good.

I thought this was one of the more interesting interpretations on the challenge theme. The interaction of course is subtle and the "smile" anthropomorphic, but the light on the goat, the many lines, and the great tones really make this photo stand out.

Deb, it's difficult to believe a cute kid and her kitten could score higher than this. I'm thinking of switching to pigeons...

But it is funny! Really we need an entire point and shoot goat challenge.

I don't think it needed explaining, Deb. Your commenters mostly loved it, so just suggest to Langdon that commenters' scores should count twice as much as ordinary ones ... hmmmm ... that's actually an interesting idea, though it mught cause a slew of "." comments LOL!

Sorry for doing this Deb, but that comment made me laugh. Sorry this didn't do better.

I like how you can tell it's a point and shoot from the shadow.

The shadow is clever, although possibly a bit to subtle for this forum!

I elected to use a rating table to decide on what value to assign during voting.
Here’s the table:
1 No Animal/People Interaction
2 Slightly Appealing, but no Animal/People Interaction
3 Moderately Appealing, but on Animal/People Interaction
4 Greatly Appealing, but no Animal/People interaction
5 Not Appealing, but possessing Animal/People Interaction
6 Slightly Appealing and possessing Animal/People Interaction
7 Moderately Appealing and possessing Animal/People Interaction
8 Greatly Appealing and possessing Animal People Interaction
9 Better than #8, and caused an audible sigh
10 Better than #9, and would likely declare it a favorite

Thank you for the honor, I wish I'd thought of this. The clever interaction of shadow with reality with photographer (the viewer), is probably subtle enough to keep your combined score below 5.0. Congratulations!

The black and white is so perfect for this, and all the interplay of the shadows is delightful. Plus I love your concept, the goat's smile, everything. :)

I see your shadow ;-) Fun take on interaction.

Its a little dull, dark and has too much in the background. I would have just cropped it at the goat and focused in on that beautiful smile.

Good use of light to cast photographer's shadow with P&S to stick to challenge theme. Goat has a funny grin too. B&W PP not bad. Too much dead space in the rest of the shot imo.

Nice B+W and good placement in the frame, the shadow of the photographer adds interest for me.

I love the smile on the goat's face.

Now that's subtle, and I like it--the interaction is obviously with the photographer, as implied by the shadow. But the shadow doesn't overpower the rest of the shot, I like all the reflected fencing so nicely perpendicular with the backbround fence.
