Picture taken at a fair. This guy was making fresh cracklin. For those of you who don't know what cracklin is. It's like a pork rind but instead of fried skin it's the actual fried fat. Very unhealthy but very delicious when done right.

This is my first attempt at Gaussian blur in an image.

I'm not much for doctoring photos -- adding blur, for instance. But you did a good job of it, and I probably wouldn't have figured it out had you not told us. The shot also brings back some good memories, as I lived all around down there as a teen(Lafitte, Livingston Parish, etc.).

Not sure if I am 'qualified' to give pointers on the use of the blur as I don't really use it.

I quite like this shot and the way it is composed. The cracklin at the forefront, with this man who has a strong and solitary presence controlling it and the peeps way in the back who seem to waiting for their chow. It seems like the subjects get progressively more out of focus which is cool. I was wondering what it would be like if the man was even more out of focus...
