My flash trigger experiment.
It uses a programmable Aduino microprocessor board for the delay circuit. This is connected to an inferred gate, a shutter remote, a flash trigger, and a LCD with buttons to run the menu. When the drop passes through the gate it opens the shutter via a remote. Then after a settable delay the flash is triggered via a remote.

The yellow board with the two chips is my original timer attempt that I'm just using the IR gate circuit from for this project. The yellow board was used for "A Splash of colour" but wasn't flexible enough
