 This spot is 15 min from Downtown Oakland. Directly in the foreground is the City of Canyon. On the other side of the first ridge is Moraga, followed by Lafayette, Pleasant Hill, Concord/Walnut Creek, Clayton and Mt. Diablo in the distance. In the bottom right hand corner you can see a bit of a road. This backroad goes all the way down to the fog where the road runs through a grove of redwoods. If you want I can take you from this spot to Mt. Diablo without getting on the highway. :)

This was a very difficult exposure. I used two GND filters, one mauve for sky and another neutral one to darken the sky more so that foreground would come out.

Here is the image at 800 pixels, it would be nice to enter images at this size.

Very familiar feel to it - I lived in Vallejo for 7 years in the 80's and drove to San Jose (where I grew up) all the time. Nice capture here, Joe. Decent score too. I agree - 800px would've been better here.

Really beautiful. The pink sky looks a bit unnatural. Some fancy grad filter maybe? But I know that light can do amazing things. My pick for the yellow.8
