Sara - This is fantastic. I didn't get a chance to either view or vote on the FS this month unfortunately, but was drawn to this shot when I saw it. Really good work to capture slices of life - the quiet conversations, the waiting man - what he is waiting for is unknown to any of us, the shoppers scurrying about with packages etc. Delightful stuff really.

I just keep getting drawn back to the face of the young woman - she is so intense and her face completely draws you in. Great stuff.

Commenting as part of my Team Suck duties...

A beautiful street photo... processing makes it look a little cartoonish though. I love the look on the woman's face (on the left)... she's NOT HAPPY with the fella. Would have love this if the guy in the centre showed some plumbers crack... ala RTK's Top Shelf.

Sigh... I just hit some stupid button and my comment has disappeared for the second time! I shall persevere, however...

I do recall starting to comment on this during the challenge, but for some reason did not complete that comment. It is the central figure, with his back to us, who we cannot know, around whom this entire mini-world rotates. A lovely concoction of textures and faces, and could ONLY be in B&W. Very well done!!

OK, I'm going through the Free Study submissions, purposefully finding those images I think are shot with a less conventional eye - this is one of those images! Thanks for offering something that isn't just DPC friendly eye-candy (though of course there's nothing wrong with eye-candy). I'll be picking one of these images for my Mu (most underrated) award:

Positives: Interesting shot and an interesting title! The first thing I thought when I looked at the image was how I wished he was walking towards me and then I noticed your title - a play on words? This looks sort of HD - I wonder if it is? I think you have really succeeded in making the viewer feel as if they are there, it's like we could walk into the scene.

Critical stuff: I think I'd question the crop - I'd bring the top border down a little.

Overall: A good picture of everyday life which is full of authenticity.

This looks like some Topaz was used. It really makes it jump out there. Nice contrast.
