I did a few shoots for this challenge and wasnt entirely happy with any of them. This picture is the result of alot of trial and error.

I ended up using an led light as the only light source

Very nice way to illuminate the filaments of the lightbulb. It also helps that I really like blue/black combos. :-) Well done!

Initial score of 8 was too fast. I didn't take time to look at the details, which is what I look for most in pictures. I was going to rescore it a 9 instead of 8, but then I compared it up against every other 9 I had scored and I just think it's better than the other 9s, so I knotched it up to a 10. The reflection and refraction of the blue light in the glass bulb did it for me. In fact, there are some parts of the glass bulb where I can't tell were the light begins or ends, which is an especially cool effect. The upper left loop of light is kind of "feathery" if that makes sense, and I think that is my favorite part of the picture. I love the richness of the blue color as well. My only constructive criticism is that on the far right (in the middle) the light doesn't seem as smooth as the other "light loops". Other than that, I think it's a solid effort, very well done, and deserves a ribbon.

Great color and idea. A bit too dark for me though. If I could see more definition in the lightbulb base this would be even better.
