Initial score of 8 was too fast. I didn't take time to look at the details, which is what I look for most in pictures. I was going to rescore it a 9 instead of 8, but then I compared it up against every other 9 I had scored and I just think it's better than the other 9s, so I knotched it up to a 10. The reflection and refraction of the blue light in the glass bulb did it for me. In fact, there are some parts of the glass bulb where I can't tell were the light begins or ends, which is an especially cool effect. The upper left loop of light is kind of "feathery" if that makes sense, and I think that is my favorite part of the picture. I love the richness of the blue color as well. My only constructive criticism is that on the far right (in the middle) the light doesn't seem as smooth as the other "light loops". Other than that, I think it's a solid effort, very well done, and deserves a ribbon. |
