The dust or small spider web remains are a bit distracting, but it's just me being picky :) Nice contrast and colour. Nice subject. The background is really black, which makes the bamboo pop. Nice diagonal composition. The focus is a bit soft, but it may be my eyes as well :)

very nice entry in this challenge - i almost wonder about the crop - it almost seems that the top twist is leading to the best part and we are missing it

Hmmm...second time around on this one as I'm doing some commenting. It's growing on me a bit more. I like how you've done a nice job controlling the lighting. The subject certainly fits the challenge quite well and is pleasing to look at. It does help to dust a little better. ;-P Good luck!

*not voting as I'm in this challenge-just commenting since I've seen requests for comments in the challenge thread*

Very nicely done. The placement, sharpness, and border are all working together very well here. My only nitpick(and this is if I'm forced to have one) is the purpleish fuzz or what not in the upper right quadrant. being basic editing it is totally not a hinderance though. Good luck in the challenge.
