 This is probably the first decent shot I got using my new 9 stop ND filter. It was a long month with horrible sunsets. Not what I would call a landscape photographer's dream. I managed a couple of nice shots though. I don't think this would be everybody's cup of tea though. But let's wait and see :)

Minor sun flare cloned out.

This is a blend of two exposures. The darker exposure was only used to get the hotspot of the sun a tad smaller. I see now that the darker shot was taken at a different aperture. They were taken one after the other without moving the tripod. According to advanced editing rules, the composition and framing must remain the same, which was the case here. I'm always a bit paranoid that I'm breaking rules. I'm certain that it's not the case here though.

Thank you everybody for the kind words and great score. This is my highest finish in a free study, so I am ecstatic! So close though. Second 4th place in a row, gotta break through that barrier! :)

Personally, I think the title's stupid, but the image is spectacular! LOL!!! If I give you a 9 you can't be mad at mke, right?.....9

Classic sunset scene. Good colours and details right through the shot. I like the way you have managed to keep detail in all areas without blown out sections, I assume multiple exposures and / or grad filters.

Great Title, Good image. I like the effect of the long exposures on the water, the almost mystic feel that it goves the overall photo as a result. Composition is very centered, and the front rocks seem to lead somewhere. Could an off center sun, and more room to the right have worked? Just a thought. A great image and great colours through it as well..........

Very picturesque. Nice DOF, very crisp and clean image. The colors of the sunset and the sky look very natural. Nice silkiness of the water. Like how the outcropping of the rocks walk the viewer out to the sunset. A breath taking image.
