Ahh, good ol' black spaghetti, as my bro-in-law calls it. Good capture but you need more of a focal point. The D90 is capable of many great things! Use it well! :-)
Yep, and it's not pretty at home either. :-) You've certainly met the challenge theme of twisted / curved lines, but quite honestly, the photo is underwhelming from a viewing standpoint. Also, why not use the full 640 pixels? You only used 500 on the long side.
Yep, that indeed is something we all have. Most of my piles that look like that are in a box in the basement - I'm tempted to give them away without looking inside! Meets the challenge but rather blah in the approach with the straight overhead, harsh light bit. Maybe a shot from down low, looking across, with lower light to create a sense of a twisted jungle, for instance?
*not voting as I'm in this challenge-just commenting since I've seen requests for comments in the challenge thread* I like the idea of this. I think it would look less snapshotish if it had a nicer bg then the cardboard. I also think they could have been arranged in an eye pleasing way and still represented the tangled mess scenario we all know too well.
