A wild mountain Iris, photographed from the top. Transformed into a bronze coloring with a canvas background. This was a DQ'd photo from the Threes challenge, because of my ORIGINAL (I annotated it, and dumped my OTHER original) and wanting proof that the background could be done within the rules (advanced editing, so what does it matter?)

Nice job obliterating the background. Especially for this particular challenge, the unusual (for flower shots) B&W treatment works well.

wonderful composition and b&w adds some drama, water drops are a nice touch, one of my top picks this time around

This is a nice macro and an interesting choice to use black and white. The background in the lower left corner shows some wierdness on my monitor. I don't really know what to call it; I'm seeing what looks like folds in black velvet. I wasn't totally sure of this central placement and square cropping for the subject.

Nice shot, but I want to see the color! Lilies and iris tend to be brightly colored, so this is a bit like seeing a B&W photo of a rainbow to me.

nice shot, well executed. a bit harshly lit for my taste but excellent technique nonetheless.

Nice monochrome. Very sharp and contrasty.

Good b/w photo for this challenge. Even though I see six petals, they are two different kinds so, technically, two groups of three. Sharp details of the petals and of the water drops. The background has a bit of noise and should have been cloned out. The stalk is fine but there are small white spots around.

You've done a good job with this - nicely burned and richly toned. One point - I would maybe include more definition in the stem or lose it alytogether as it looks too subtle to define. Anyone liking flowers would appreciate this I'm sure.
