I've been seeing a bunch of this plump little guys lately, but I haven't figured out what they are yet, so any help is appreciated! I loved the look he was giving me.

Cute little pump bird, whatever he is.

I have to put a little more work into the ID, but I couldn't rule out a female common yellowthroat right now. I'm surprised though because I haven't seen any of the males around. I got the chance to watch a pair back in june for a good while and I thought the male was such a beautiful bird.

I'd say common yellow throat too, the males have a black mask, so this would be a female

I'm going with Common Yellowthroat (female). Adorable little bird and the perspective with that light and shadowing is really interesting. Not optimal for bird ID, but interesting ;-)

BTW, I stumbled upon a new US (Eastern) bird ID site which I found quite useful. It also has pages where you can search on something other than color.

Oh Cool! A "Yellow Bellied Buzz Off" bird! LOL It looks like he is wanting to tell you to buzz off with that big lens.
It's a good shot, and most interesting that the shadow of his beak is almost on the centerline of his breast. I hope you find out what it really is soon.
