The State Farm balloon passes by at the Plano Balloon Festival. I glanced over and the two folks to my side were pointing forward in unison, with the balloon between them. Recognizing a potential shot for this challenge, I flipped off the autofocus and fired off a couple of blurry rounds before the balloon moved on.

I like the way that in spite of the out of focus aspect, I still snagged some dimension from the depth of field.

Pre-challenge notes:
Though I have gotten some positive feedback on this, and like it myself, I am not really sure how it will do in the challenge. Only one way to know.

Anticipated critiques:
-Woman's elbow is cut off at the edge of the frame.
-Too centered.

Post-challenge notes:
Did well enough for a challenge that was a difficult stretch for many. I may have done better if I had entered one of the motion blurred images I had from the same day, but I really did not feel that was the topic.

I love the composition. It's really cool that both the lenses are pointed in the same direction (nice diagonal).

This is definitely one of my favorites for this challenge. Wonderfully done.

I like the composition of this, though I'm not sure the missed focus makes the image or the subject more compelling. In fact, I'm not quite sure what the subject is. 6

I like this composition - one is free to imagine the foremost subject is just another view of the second subject, and the balloon behind is what the lens(es) represented here are pointing at. I also like that you resisted putting anything fully in focus here.

I like the composition and the blurred background turned out very good, but I think you would have gotten a much stronger shot if the lens/hand in the lower right corner were in focus. Maybe just my interpretation but I don't believe that *everything* needs to be out of focus to meet this challenge. /6
