During voting there have been several comments of the picture reminding people of the "Christina's World" painting. I'm afraid I had never even heard of the painting until today. This shot was taken on the fly as I was headed up to the cabin to do some engagement photos.

The tilt and focus were intentional, I didn't notice until after the fact that my shadow was in the picture. I'm grateful for the positive feedback I've received on this shot but I feel like I could have done better setting up the shot.

Post Voting: Wow guys thank you very much for the votes and the top ten. I appreciate the comments and criticism very much.

The angle makes this very interesting. The gold and blue are beautiful complements to each other.

This reminds me so much of the painting "Christina's World." I honestly think the title does nothing for setting a mood and, since it draws my attention to the IN FOCUS barley, pushes the image away from meeting the challenge. I think you captured this beautifully and, with a good title, could have meaning beyond a simple farm crop. You might possibly crop a large portion of sky. It would really push forth a feeling of entrapment of the house and give this image a whole different emotional impact. Well taken 8

I like the comp, the lighting and point of view. Great work.

I actually prefer this focus...it really is a great shot. I don't feel guilty at all voting high for this because subject is in the eye of the beholder right? Perhaps someone would want the building in focus although they would be wrong :)

You could have named this "Christina's world" and I would have believed it to be from her perspective. linkie. Love the tilt.

I like this a lot, but if the subject is that which should be blurred, shouldn't you have titled it "the old house?" Just a thought. I like the tilt. 7

The blue sky contrasts wonderfully with the golden barley field. I am not sure if I like the tilt, or dislike it - I can't make up my mind. But besides that, wonderfully done!
