watching the debate in the forums about the difference between motion blur and focus almost made me want to pull this. i'm worried that the strength of the motion blur here will overshadow the lack of focus.

I don't recall seeing this before (I missed voting this challenge), but this is incredibly beautiful and interesting.

These are the winds of change. Images such as this (excellent one) scoring in the top 10 is a big turnaround for DPC. Congrats on your excellent placement. Love this photo!

I don't feel that long exposure counts as a missed focus, especially since it look almost like a panned photo. BUT the swirly legs and bodies make this look really cool. 7

great use of subject and photographer movement. I love the hues you used - limiting the color palette really forces viewer to pay attention to the subject. Very well toned and good work with your lights and darks. Only nit I have is the heads all being turned away. If one was looking at the camera, even blurry, it would really grab attention. Right now it is just interesting in passing, just as they are. 7

Love the Duchamp feet. I think this meets the 'compelling' requirement well.

Perfect amount of blur and in the right places - a super composition. The title doesn't do justice to this excellent photo, still, I am giving it a 10 to help make up for the anal voters who can only see the motion blur. Hell... it deserves a 10 anyway.

There may be just a slight OOF here, but the real visual element here is the motion blur.

Something almost baroque about this, or are those mermen?

The shuffle swirls are excellent! Nice use of the muted acidic tones, too.

Motion blur is the main element here - but who cares? This is so well executed and utterly compelling! 9.

The problem here is that I can't tell if it's out of focus or not due to the motion blur

this is more motion blur than missed focus, but I do like the image, perhaps not for this challenge
