Shot with a single flash slightly to the left. Fixed the hair on the right-side model.
Applied highlights to the hair to make it look more shiny, dodged the irises, exaggerated the black make-up around the eyes.
These girls are my younger sisters; twins. It was the first shoot I did with them and they were excellent models. Great fun to do !

Thanks bvy ;)

You are totally correct. The whole design was thought through thouroughly, and this was the best way I could get the image across. There's always someone to criticize an image - beauty is in the eye of the beholder and every individual has it's own unique taste. Some (or many) on DPC have their personal tastes flavoured by rules of thumb like these rules are the law. Photography rules of thumb are mere guidelines if you ask me. They are to be interpreted by the person composing and taking the picture and they should be applied or at least be kept in mind but only there where they contribute to the overall composition and layout of a photo.
In this particular image I decided to ignore the rules and go for my best feeling; hoping to get that feeling across. You, and a few others have picked up on the message ;)

Absolutely not! The vignette and their lurking low in the frame is what gives this its impact.

Nice shot - I think it would have popped more if you had cropped out the empty space at the top.
