 for the Serendipity side challenge

lensbaby defocus intending to get a colorful contrast of those yellow flowers in a dull-colored field, but I didn't even notice that stray bit of focused grass in the foreground until I got it on my computer. Also the sun slanting in shot a nice prism of glare through the treeline in the background.

I thought maybe it was shot through a piece of cracked glass -- which would also be cool. I like it just how it is.

Ah yes, that stray bit of grass is how serendipity can creep in when we least expect it - and yet it's the lovely defocussed and intentional yellows that give it the stage.

I imagine this as a dry meadow punctuated by resistant yellow blooms, the tree line becomes a distant mountain range...a vision of late summer in the deep southwest.

yellow is such a great color for this sort of thing. it just glows. and the purple hills are a perfect foil. grass or no grass!

We're doing stencils of flowers and tiny bugs in the nursery right now. The colors look like this. Love it!
