 This is "Stretch", The Great Egret. He was in the ditch along the road through a tomato field, and as usual, I shot this from the driver's seat of my work truck. The blur in the foreground is the edge of the ditch. This bird is not too skittish, since he has seen a lot of people, and they don't bother him while he is there. He is about four ft tall.
Manual 300mm @ f 5.6 Hand held.

They are very impressive birds. 4 foot tall is very large as well.
